Humble Choice March 2026: What to play on Steam Deck

The Humble Choice March 2026 lineup is here, and this one feels more like a discovery month for me. None of these games were already sitting in my library or on my wishlist, so there is no obvious “I need this one” pick right away.

This month includes Tempest Rising, Chants of Sennaar, SWORN, Etrian Odyssey III HD, Bread & Fred, Zero Hour, Smalland: Survive the Wilds, and Hard West 2.

If I had to start with one, it would probably be Chants of Sennaar. I like that it looks different from the usual bundle headliners, and it feels like the kind of slower puzzle/adventure game that could work well on the Deck. It is also the game here where the strong reviews make me most curious.

After that, Tempest Rising and Etrian Odyssey III HD would be the ones I would check next. Tempest Rising has that classic RTS appeal, but I would want to see how comfortable it feels with the Deck controls before committing time to it. Etrian Odyssey III HD is probably the better fit if I want something turn-based and portable.

The rest depends a lot on mood. SWORN could be fun if I want action, Bread & Fred looks more like a co-op patience test, and Smalland: Survive the Wilds is one of those survival games where I would want to know if I am actually ready for another crafting loop. Zero Hour and Hard West 2 are harder sells for me on Deck because their compatibility looks less straightforward.

For a month like this, I would use DeckFilter before redeeming everything. When nothing is already on my wishlist, the Steam reviews, ProtonDB tier, Deck Verified status, SteamOS compatibility, controller support, and the general “do I actually want to play this?” feeling matter a lot more.
