Humble Choice April 2026: What to play on Steam Deck
Humble Choice April 2026 brings Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, Until Then, Planet of Lana, Artisan TD, The Procession to Calvary, and Buddy Simulator 1984 to Steam Deck players.
The Humble Choice April 2026 lineup is here, and this is a pretty easy month to justify if you play a lot on Steam Deck. The big name is clearly Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but the smaller games are the reason I would actually open DeckFilter before redeeming every key.
This month includes Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, Until Then, Planet of Lana, Artisan TD, The Procession to Calvary, and Buddy Simulator 1984.
For me, the first three keeps are already clear: I grabbed Assassin's Creed Valhalla, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, and Until Then. Valhalla is the huge one, but also the kind of game where I know it can easily turn into another massive open-world project. Return to Moria sounds more interesting if I can play it with friends, and Until Then looks like the easiest handheld pick for quieter story sessions.
The two games I would look at next are Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion and Planet of Lana, because both were already on my wishlist. Planet of Lana especially feels like a natural Steam Deck game: short sessions, beautiful art, and not the kind of thing that needs a full desktop setup. I have not decided what to do with Artisan TD, The Procession to Calvary, and Buddy Simulator 1984 yet, but those are exactly the kind of smaller games where reviews, compatibility, and mood matter more than the headline value.

For a month like this, DeckFilter helps me avoid the automatic "redeem everything and forget it" trap. I can check Steam reviews, ProtonDB, Deck Verified status, SteamOS compatibility, controller support, and my own library before deciding what gets installed, what waits, and what might become a giveaway.
