Humble Choice April 2024 on Steam Deck

This article looks at the April 2024 Humble Choice games with Steam Deck compatibility and playtime in mind.

April 2024’s Humble Choice is a strange mix for Steam Deck: Victoria 3, The Callisto Protocol™, Fashion Police Squad, Coromon, and a few smaller games that are easier to fit into shorter sessions.

The Callisto Protocol™ and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow were the games I wanted to check first for Deck compatibility. Victoria 3 is the bigger question, mostly because grand strategy can be awkward on a handheld even when it technically runs.

For time, Fashion Police Squad is the short pick. Victoria 3 is the opposite, and I would only count it as a Steam Deck win if you actually enjoy playing strategy games on the small screen.

I already played The Callisto Protocol™ on PS4 with a friend, and as a Dead Space fan, I had a good time with it. I’m also interested in The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow for the folk horror angle. Fashion Police Squad looks like the oddball pick, and Coromon has been sitting in my collection for a while without being played.
