This article is designed to help you to speed up your research. I’ve curated an overview of each game’s ProtonDB tiers and Deck Verified statuses, as well as their HowLongToBeat (HLTB) times. For every title, you’ll find links to its Steam page for more info, ProtonDB for compatibility insights, and ShareDeck for performance configurations tailored to the Steam Deck. Additionally, I’ve included a convenient button for each game to directly search it on YouTube for the Steam Deck. This means you can easily find gameplay footage, reviews, and performance tests without having to type out the search yourself.
This January 2024, Humble Choice kicks off the year with an incredible array of titles, ranging from the superheroic strategy in Marvel’s Midnight Suns to the academic charm of Two Point Campus, and the shadowy stealth of Aragami 2. I’ve delved into the ProtonDB tiers and Deck Verified statuses for each game, along with their HowLongToBeat (HLTB) times. This comprehensive overview is aimed at aligning your game choices with both your gaming preferences and the time you have to dedicate, ensuring a perfectly tailored gaming experience.
The games this month span from “Gold” to “Platinum” on ProtonDB, many of which boast a “Verified” status for the Steam Deck, suggesting they’ll run without a hitch. Highlights include Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Two Point Campus, both of which promise engaging gameplay experiences with their “Verified” badge, guaranteeing a smooth run on Linux systems and the Steam Deck.
Time-wise, whether you’re in for a quick dive or a lengthy adventure, January’s Humble Choice caters to all. Looking for a brief, yet captivating journey? OTXO offers about 11 hours of intense gameplay. For those craving a more extended exploration, Marvel’s Midnight Suns could see you strategizing for up to 93 hours for a complete experience. Regardless of your schedule, there’s something for everyone this month.
Personally, I was thrilled to see Marvel’s Midnight Suns in the lineup – a game I’ve eagerly awaited. Alongside this, I’ve picked Aragami 2 and The Red Lantern for their unique gameplay and narrative depth. Twin Mirror is a title I already own and adore for its immersive storytelling. Hell Pie also caught my eye with its outrageously fun premise, making it a must-add to my collection. Watch out for my giveaways of other games on the @DeckFilter Twitter account – a great opportunity to try some of these titles for free!
